Charles Swanson initially designed Enki to catch the rainfall falling from a roof at an entry way. It serves as a large ad welcoming sculptural element for visitors as well as a functional diverter of rainwater. Enki is a prominent element in the Cape Cod landscape design "The Passage" by Horiuchi-Solien Landscape Architects. It has also been featured in Garden Design Magazine as an element in the Golden Trowel Award winning design by architect Michele Foster.
